I love this because it’s always moving, it’s going somewhere moment by moment and not exactly settling. Plus the saxophones sound crunchy - like the honeycomb and chocolate bar.
Aurora Nealand - accordion, Bb clarinet, voice & tronics
Ches Smith -drums & tronics
David Torn - el guitar,modifiers & live-multi-looping
Tim Berne - alto saxophone
hey, hey!
here be the recorded unveiling of The Sunny Four, in its naturally broad-, stretching- and unfolding-state: performed In Real Time. (that, similar-to but def not the-same-as its long-standing core, Sun of Goldfinger.)
but --- ok, silly question --- was Time ever even Real, in that place on that night?
maybe it was, and it wasn't... as the bright quartet rightly birthed & destroyed old & new moments by simply explorerating whatever ineffable edges & bodies of communication that the 3rd party --- i mean, the music itself --- revealed to us: but together. always together, even when seeming to be in temporary or individualistic "oppositions", lol.
because why/how?
because trust in something other is shared strongly with this expanding fam: it's known, it's created anew in real-time... and quietly, deeply demands our respect & our truest efforts.
